Because accommodations and services must be secured in advance, the following cancellation fees apply.
- 30 days or more before the tour start date
The deposit is non-refundable. - 29–8 days before the tour start date
30% of the total tour price. - 7–2 days before the tour start date
50% of the total tour price. - 1 day before the tour start date
80% of the total tour price. - On the day of the tour or no-show
100% of the total tour price.
Cancellation Procedure
All cancellation requests must be submitted through the designated cancellation form provided by KisoAdventures.
Cancellation requests submitted by email or other methods may not be accepted.
The cancellation date will be determined based on the date the cancellation form is received.
KisoAdventures is not responsible for cancellation requests that are not submitted through the designated cancellation form.
Refund Policy
Refunds will be issued after deducting any applicable cancellation fees.
Payment processing fees (including credit card and payment gateway fees) are non-refundable.
In addition, a minimum handling fee of 10,000 JPY per booking will be charged for accommodation arrangements and administrative processing.
This fee may increase depending on the number of accommodations arranged.
All refunds will be processed in Japanese Yen (JPY).
Refund processing may take up to 14 business days.
Accommodation Arrangements
Due to the limited number of accommodations in historic post towns along the Nakasendo Trail, specific accommodation requests cannot be guaranteed.
If a reserved accommodation becomes unavailable due to circumstances beyond our control, KisoAdventures reserves the right to arrange alternative accommodation of a similar standard.
Accommodation Cancellation Charges
Accommodation providers may apply their own cancellation policies, which may differ from the standard cancellation policy of KisoAdventures.
If cancellation fees charged by accommodation providers exceed the cancellation fees stated above, the additional amount may be charged to the customer.
This applies particularly to small family-run inns and traditional accommodations along the Nakasendo Trail, where cancellation policies may be stricter due to limited availability.
Reservation Notice
Due to the limited number of accommodations available along the Nakasendo Trail, reservations should be made well in advance.
KisoAdventures reserves the right to decline or modify booking requests made on short notice if suitable accommodations cannot be secured.
Force Majeure
KisoAdventures shall not be held liable for cancellations, delays, itinerary changes, or inability to provide services due to events beyond our reasonable control.
These may include but are not limited to natural disasters, severe weather conditions, earthquakes, typhoons, trail closures, transportation disruptions, government restrictions, or other unforeseen circumstances.
